
First launched in 1992 as “Seeing is Believing”, the directors had a clear vision that video would have a profound impact on the manner in which consumers researched and ultimately purchased travel. The initial focus was on the production of hour long destination videos featuring a range of accommodation choices and destination information on what to do and how to get around.The video library grew to include 11 destinations covering the USA, Singapore, Australia and the Pacific.
While the videos proved to very popular, it soon became apparent that the internet was going to become an extremely important sales channel for the travel, tourism and hospitality industry. While the internet has developed significantly over the past 10 years one aspect has remained constant, the importance of good quality and in more recent times, moving content.
In 2000, with assistance of a New Zealand Governement Research and Development grant, the company began the development of its very first online platform. By 2004 the company’s ongoing online revenues exceeded all forecasts cementing the business model and direction of the business. In 2005, to reflect the change in focus from content production to online distribution, the company changed its name to PREVU Corporation, a company now recognised as Asia Pacific’s leading distributor of rich media for the travel and tourism industry.
Through a partnership with ICE Portal, PREVU continues to pursue its aspirations of being a global distrbutor of rich media for the travel and tourism industry. Its distribution extends beyond just Asia Pacific and now boosts key US and European travel brands.
From its head office in Auckland, New Zealand, PREVU works with hotelier’s in Australia, Asia, India, China and the Pacific. In mid 2009 a regional sales office was established in Perth, Western Australia.
